If your school is interested in putting on a high quality theatrical production, but you don't have the staffing or resources to make it happen, Shake the Bard can help make your production a reality. Over fifty percent of our staff are current or retired educators and educating the youth in the performing arts is one of the most important aspects of our mission. Have education presentations performed for your high school class

Educational Presentations

One service that Shake the Bard offers is an introduction to classic works through mini-plays. We offer approximately a half-hour abbreviated version of a classic work that we are currently producing in its full form as a company, accompanied by a study guide for the play and a Q & A session. This is generally targeted toward high school students.

Do a school play in conjunction with our theatre company

Professional School Production

If your school desires a deeper, more hands-on theatrical experience for your students, Shake the Bard can produce a full-length play with them, casting students alongside a few of our company members. This gives children a chance to experience a growth process as they rehearse and then perform their play.

Our summer academy allows kids to explore the performing arts in a comfortable environment

Summer Academy

Shake the Bard also offers a Summer Academy for 4-8 grade students. This program gives children a sampler of each type of theatrical experience. The students will learn acting techniques, participate in writing a short play, rehearse it, and perform it in conjunction with Shake the Bard’s full-length production. There are opportunities for children to learn costuming, prop gathering, and collaboration.

Build your own play from start to finish with the help of one of our directors

Build Your Own Play

If your school would like to perform a student-created production with a little bit of help, Shake the Bard can send one of its drama coaches to your school a few days a week during school hours to help your students create a show and perform it for their family and friends.

Bring in one of our drama consultants to help put the finishing touches on your show

Consultant / Drama Coach

Or, if you’ve already begun a theatrical project and just want a little bit of help to smooth out any rough edges, a consultant from Shake the Bard can spend some time with your students working on acting techniques and helping them get comfortable with stagecraft.

STB's improvisational theatre team is available for improv workshops

Improvisational Theatre

Shake the Bard also has an improvisational theatre troupe that is available to give workshops. Members of the troupe can come to your school and introduce your students to several of the theatre games we play. For more information about STB's improvisational theatre, click here.
